Meet the Author
I am so lucky to have been teaching first grade for over 15 years. After working for a financial company, I went back to school at the University at Buffalo. I couldn't decide if I wanted to be a teacher or librarian, so I earned my Master’s degree in both Elementary Education and Information & Library Studies. Even though I had lots of stories in my head, I didn't really begin writing until 2006, when I was accepted as a fellow in the Western New York Writing Project. Born and raised in New Hartford, New York, I now live outside of Buffalo with my husband, two daughters, dog, goldfish and two frogs. I enjoy knitting, reading, crafting, and (of course) practicing karate. I am very excited to have recently been promoted to the rank of Brown Belt in Isshin-ryu Karate.
The picture on the left was taken on the day I received the first printed version of my book. It was such an exciting day! I was holding two years of hard work in my hands!
